Moderators, Editors and Reviewers
Moderators, editors and reviewers perform a vital role for GeologyRocks; they ensure that the material on the the site is of excellent quality and suitable for the audience. Briefly, moderators look after the forums, deleting content that is not suitable and moving topics into the correct sub-forum if necessary. The editor has overall responsibility for the site and content. The editor has the final say on suitability of any material. The reviewers read and check over material that has been submitted by members. They are very much like reviewers for scientific papers. Their job is to ensure that the article is scientifically valid. They also help increase the readability of submitted content. This section of the help pages has more information on all these roles.
You can recognise any members who hold the roles of editor or moderator by the badges on their profile or on a comment of theirs. Reviewers are not identified as they remain anonymous throughout the review process. There are three badges, one for moderator, one for editor and one for site admin:
